on December 17 & 18 at NYC's Largest Holiday Pet Adoption Event
We have adopted 2 dogs as part of our family + our first dog. One was adopted last year, a one eye 7year old Chihuahua Terrier Mix that was about to be put down. We named her Bella as she is a beautiful dog to us. 3 weeks ago we adopted another Chihuahua Terrier Mix because someone abandoned the poor baby at a busy parking lot late at night with tones of cars pulling in and out. We named her Hope. They have brought me tones of joy. I love them like they are my children.
If you are looking for companionship or to fulfill a child’s wish this holiday, please consider adoption. These animals really need us, need someone to love, cherish and can provide a forever home. Find it deep down in your heart this holiday season and make these little precious animals dream come true. With this pet adoption, it is a great opportunity to take them home and bring everyone joy and forever love this holiday. If you don't live in NYC, find a local shelter near you. There are lots of way you can help this holiday. You can bring them food, beds, blankets, toys and even volunteer your time will help.
The best gifts I have ever gotten are my dogs. I hope you guys out there feels the same way.
New York, NY
Tuesday, December 13, 2011 - The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals® will present its annual holiday pet adoption extravaganza
Whiskers in Wonderland®, on December 17 and 18 at the Metropolitan Pavilion, located at 125 West 18th Street in Manhattan.
Admission is free to the two-day event. Pet adoption fees are determined by each rescue organization. Event times are Noon–6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, and Sunday, December 18.
What better way to celebrate the spirit of the season than to grant a homeless pet's number-one wish -- the gift of a forever home? In return, you'll receive a gift of unconditional love that will last a lifetime!
Bring holiday cheer to these homeless animals and prepare to fall in love with one... or more! Twenty-six different animal rescue groups and shelters that participate in the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals will be represented at the event, ready and waiting to help potential adopters make responsible choices and find the perfect pet to fit their lifestyle.
And there's more!
The Whiskers Fashion Show, hosted by Pet Fashion Designer, Animal Talent Manager, and Pet Stylist Ada Nieves, will feature dogs, cats, and even rabbits!
Two shows each day, at 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. Explore the "beyond" with Catherine Ferguson, a pet psychic. Who will answer your pressing questions about your pet. Watch our guest artist create a portrait of your pet. Catch a photo of you and your pets with "Santa Maddie," the six-foot Miniature Schnauzer mascot from Maddie's Fund®.
Since adopting a pet is a commitment for the life of the pet and involves the entire household, bring everyone along to meet you new furry family member. "New Yorkers love their pets, and we have an abundance of wonderful animals -- especially cats and kittens -- awaiting loving homes," says Jane Hoffman, Mayor's Alliance President. "This event is extremely important, because it's our single largest event focused on finding good homes for these deserving animals."
